For the second year I have volunteered as the Art Director for the Chicago Fringe Festival. This year we did a poster competition to get original artwork. Alex Cruze designed this colorful aztec symbol along with custom typography. I got to adapt this art to many deliverables ranging from huge pull-up banners to tiny buttons and everything in between. There were many print ads, electronic ads, posters and, as you can see in the image above, CTA signage.

The design challenge was to design “This.” I created a frame, stamp look for the logo and made the website product-based. “This” will make you HAPPY, WEALTHY, SKINNY, BEAUTIFUL.

During the 2011 summer, I took a video editing class through DePaul University’s Digital Cinema department. My video project was geared towards combining my program of New Media Studies with a documentary-type film. The video explains how the Art Institute of Chicago uses new media and multimedia to enhance their exhibits.
Skills: filming, editing, voiceover recording and editing, sound editing, original music composed in GarageBand, still photography

I stumbled upon this wonderful artist, Eduardo Recife (www.misprintedtype.com) whose website and work is quite inspirational. On my way to work this morning I took a street shot looking north on State Street mainly because the sun was shining and that’s been a rare happening lately. I created this poster/postcard based off of the picture and Eduardo Recife’s work.

Branding and social media created for a personal project that my Mom and I came up with – we go to a high-end restaurant for lunch once a month and tweet about what we ordered and the overall experience and then we describe in more details about the lunch in our blog. @lunchicago, blog

This site was developed for my Web Scripting class at DePaul. The goal of the site would be to create more of a two-way street between people looking to adopt a dog and area shelters. This site helps inform the person looking to adopt a dog identify the appropriate criteria they should look for in a new pet. The user would fill out the form and an email would communicate their ideal dog criteria to local shelters. Since this site was created using newer elements of HTML5 and CSS3, it is best viewed in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.
